Stop text messages from waking up phone

Anyone know how to do this my phone wakes up when a message is received super annoying especially during the day

With AOD on it shouldn't light up the screen , just show icon you have a notification.

Screen turns on for every text - can't turn off on s21

Just got the s21 and every time I get a text message (or maybe any kind of notification) the screen turns on. I tried changing the notification settings to brief and turned off "show even while screen is off" but it still turns on. WTF do I have to do to stop this battery suck?

I have mine scheduled, tested couple times and just icon appears , doesn't wake up the screen

Check galaxy store ,there been 2 updates to AOD

Re: Screen turns on for every text - can't turn off on s21

if you are using "Brief popup style" in Notification Settings( Settings-> Notifications)
check once "Show even while screen is off" in Brief pop-up settings.
if this option is trurned on, the edgelighting will be shown on AOD screen, when you get the text message.
