Android Central Question

I've been facing the same problem for the past few months.

I get a message saying "you're dangerously low on space".
I delete some apps and move all photos and videos to external sd.
2gb get freed up.
no new apps are installed and no new pics or vids.
a few days later space runs out again.

I've run out of things i can delete. I have like only 8 apps left on my phone and need them all. if I go to settings>device maintenance>Storage it shows the following:

System/user data:31.5 gb
Unnecessary data:10mb
available space:527 mb

documents:3.76 mb
images:45.8 mb
audio: 44.9 mb
videos: 54 mb
apps: 1.8 gb

What is taking up all of my space. Please help. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Cached data can build up pretty quickly, especially with apps like your browser, or with streaming media apps like YouTube or Spotify.

To avoid cache build-up, use the Back key when you're finished with an app. Using the Home key just runs the homescreen (the launcher) and the app you were running before maintains its cache. If you turn the phone off after that, the cache is never released.

If go to storage>storage settings it says i am using 15gb for photos. but that is not true i moved 15gb of photos from my internal storage to portable sd card storage. if i remove the sd card why does it still show as me having 15gb of photos?
