I have the 128GB pixel XL and only have 28.8gb used. Do you think I really need the 128gb on an xl3 or should I be good with 64gb. If you think I need the larger gb, why?
Thanks

I bought the Pixel 3 XL 128 because I thought I might be making a lot of vacation videos and I didn't want to run out of storage before everything could be uploaded.

64 would do. Especially when you can offload everything monthly on to Google photos.

If you plan to store a lot of movies then yes, 128gb would be better.

I had Panda 128gb, but got 64gb black 3xl. Like you, never had much stored on it. I am 49% full right now and only big items are pictures and videos.

If I go on vacations, I always have my laptop. So I can offload the pics and video to it if need be. It's enough for me.

I will never use anything close to 128gb, but since Fi is paying for the phone, I might as well get the most expansive version 3 XL 128 LOL. Right now I am at 22%.

A note of caution regardless of which size you buy especially for those of you looking to take lots of video. Do not allow your storage to get near to full. It could prevent your Operating System from booting up.

Have the 64gb P2XL.

I need to get rid of some old shows. I only have 15gb left

I have 10gb free on my 64gb Pixel. Don't see any performance issues. I'd get nervous if I got down to 4-5gb free. I do think that if you have enabled smart storage, then the system would start deleting already backed up images and videos from the phone.

Same here. I wouldn't want to get down to 4-5gb

Use Google photos to backup your photos and videos automatically whenever you are connected to WiFi. That will free up a lot of storage space on the phone.

I have an app-heavy P2xl, and a fair # of photos on board. I still have room for videos if I should need them.

I was fine on my 32gb pixel, so 64 was more than enough, but I got 128gb for this same reason. I'm at 28%.

I was in the same boat.
I went for the bigger one and haven't looked back !

Update. Within just a couple of months I have already used just over 60% of my storage, so the bigger phone WAS the better option.

Do you plan to use more then the 28-30 GB you have been using? If not then I would say no. If you think you are going to download crap tons of shows or something all at once then yes.
