Strange Battery life problem

I had this problem occur to me last night, it was extremely weird. For one thing I've always gotten excellent battery life out of my bionic, I guess i'm not a heavy duty ap user or phone user and just use it to talk/text and email sparingly. I've stretched my bionic's battery life to over 24 hours without charging it and normally around 2am my phone has 50%-40% battery life. Also I DO NOT have the extended battery. However last night I went out and as I was driving around 11pm my phone's battery life dropped from 60% to 40% in a matter of seconds, in fact it occurred when I turned Wi-Fi off. I didn't think anything of it, however by 2am my battery was on the verge of dying which has NEVER happened before. Is this a one time occurrence or should I be concerned that my battery somehow became defective over night

Before assuming something happened to your battery.. I would have immediately checked battery usage menu to see if there were any programs you recently installed which were going nuts with your batt life. Or could have even been a regular app that was being wonky for some reason. After a reboot and full charge see if you're still haven't problems, and if so again keep your eye on that batt usage menu and see what could be using more juice than it should be.

If you're sure there are no apps to explain it then maybe you can assume theres a problem with your battery.
