So I work at a doctors office and my IT department will not allow me to switch my secure work email from my Note8 to my new OnePlus 6t because it doesn't have a "stock" email app. My previous job allowed me tocuse Nine Email.Does anyone know of a way around this?

I'd highly recommend not attempting to get around this. If you attempt to circumvent this and your IT department find out, which they will, you'll likely be looking for a new job and quite possibly appearing in court.

Fight it out with your bosses and techs by all means, but accept their decision.

Oh I'm not going to break any rules, I was just curious why the Gmail app won't work. I've been working in the medical field long enough to know the laws regarding privacy.

I work for a college that uses exchange, and Gmail doesn't play well with them. However, both Outlook and blue mail work great. Our IT department actually took my phone and navigated to the play store to download the Outlook app, as it is their preferred method

Have to tried the Outlook app from Microsoft? It's one of the best out there if you are using office 365 or exchange. Also, generally most companies also use intune company portal where you need to first register your phone using that. But if you company isn't using that to administer phones then Outlook or Nine or any other app should generally work.

My IT department won't support it.
