Strange Google Photos Icon Appearing

Hi all,

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S7 running Nougat 7.0

Since about a week ago, and about once a day, when I'm using my phone as normal - i.e. browsing Facebook or the internet, etc - a little Google Photos icon will appear on the right side of of the screen, about half way up.

The icon is a small square that shows the last photo taken with my camera/in my library with the Google Photos logo next to it. It appears for less than a second and then disappears.

Does anyone know what is causing this or what it is doing? Has anyone else experienced this. As I said, it's only started happening in the past week or so.

if you could take a screen shot or short video of that thing it would help a lot

It happens randomly once a day and lasts for less than a second. The chances of me getting a screenshot are slim to none I'm afraid...
