Question Strange power button issue

I am witnessing this power button issue since last 3-3.5 months. I have a Samsung A30 phone which I purchased in 2019.

I am not able to understand the problem. My power button doesn't responds to the presses. Today I pressed the power button multiple times in the morning. After that, my phone is continuously witnessing automatic power presses even though I am no longer pressing the number. My phone is getting power button responses like calling emergency number and shutting off screen. All these functions are done by power button.

Last time I experienced such problem 3 months back which lasted for 4-5 days. It happened after I noticed my power button was no longer responding. I tried to press button multiple times. After some time, phone started experiencing automatic emergency calling and screen off.

This issue was not happening in these 3 months because I was no longer pressing the power button. I am glad that emergency call is just a recorded voice which lasts till 32 seconds.

Yes, of course.

When I pressed the power button in safe mode, it didn't respond. After 1-2 minutes, emergency call and screen off occurred multiple times. After some time, these problems stopped occurring. I am no longer experiencing automatic screen off and emergency call.

This issue of automatic screen off and emergency call stopped occurring 7-8 hours before I tried in safe mode. The problem lasted for just 9-10 hours.

I will no longer press the power button. My power button is gone.

It sounds like this is a hardware failure. You'll probably need to take the phone to a repair shop or replace it. Since it's five years old, it will most likely be better for you to put money towards a new phone, rather than pay for a repair of this one. I'd suggest ensuring you have a backup of any important data because more hardware failures could be imminent.

After backing up your personal data, it may be worth flood-cleaning the Power button with alcohol, and pressing it repeatedly. On the other hand, it may do damage - I don’t know. If contamination or dirt is the problem, a repairer could probably clean it properly. It may not be contamination or dirt - I’m just guessing.
