Strange problem with text?

My wife has had her SIII for a while now and everything appears to work correctly. The exception to this is that two contacts that she has on her phone are saying that they cannot contact her by text. She can text both of them perfectly but when they send her a text it never arrives for some strange reason. I have checked her phone settings and they seem ok. I have deleted both contacts and re entered them and still nothing works. Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. My wife has never owned an iphone, it's a long story but they are not allowed in my house. As far as I'm aware none of the people have had iPhone. I will read the threads anyway and any suggestions are welcome because you do understand what wife's are like when they get on your case!

If iPhones aren't involved, those threads won't help.

Does she get texts from other people? Can those two people get texts from her? If those two people text you, do you get them?

The stock messaging app has the option of marking numbers as spam. It seems unlikely, but in the messaging app tap menu, then Spam, and see if there are any messages there. If so, go into settings (in the messaging app), scroll all the way down, and check the Spam settings options. There's also a block unknown senders option, and if the numbers in her directory don't match the sending numbers (area codes in the directory, but not on the incoming message, or vice versa?) they could be getting blocked.

Your replies are most welcome and yes I can see what your saying. No other contacts are involved and texts between my wife and all other contacts work as they should. My wife can also ring the two contacts concerned and text them with no problem. They can ring her but when they text her, it just doesn't arrive unless of course you are correct in the fact that they are in fact being received but are directed into the spam folder. I though she would still receive a notification though but it's a good place to start. I will check this out later when I get home. Thank you kind sir.

Exactly what you said. For some reason all the missing texts were in the spam folder. Selected restore them and unblock the two numbers and violla! Perfection restored. Thank you for your help!
