Strange things involving top left corner of the screen.

I have a moto x 2014 verizon.

For some strange reason the top left of my screen doesnt work.

When I used a drawing app and drew something in that region, there were no lines, HOWEVER when i flipped the phone to landscape, i could draw on the unresponsive region. I have no clue if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. This is very annoying because most of the menu buttons are on the top left, and I cant access those buttons.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add one detail,
The top left part works when i restart the phone, but after awhile the problem comes back.

It sounds like a software bug. I would start by clearing the cache and deleting any new apps.
If that doesn't work I would do a factory reset.

I have the same problem with my Priv, 5.1.1 , top left corner area will not work and I can reboot then it will for a while then problem comes back.

The same problem has been reported from different devices and brands. It sounds like a conflict with a third party app. You could try booting your phone in safe mode and see if the problem persists. Try to remember which apps were downloaded or updated right before the problem started.

Do you have any memory booster, cleaner or security app installed? Those would be my first places to look for and disable.

Some users managed to fix this problem disabling FB Messenger. Do you have this app installed? Tell us if it works for you.

Thx turns out fb messenger was the problem. I just force stopped the app and the bug disappeared. It will come back so its a app glitch. I can't live without fb messenger so I'll just deal with it.
