Stratosphere NAT reset every 15 mins or so...

Got my stratosphere about 4 days ago and didn't pay attention to the data connection until after I got it rooted and installed Barnacle wifi tether. Barnacle works but throws an error about setting eth0 to ad-hoc (I think eth0 is the usb tethering interface any way so I'm not worried about that) still sets the wireless interface to ad-hoc and broadcasts the network. The second error it throws is that it can't set interface pdpbr1 MTU value, it says invalid argument. The pdpbr1 interface is my WAN interface as autodetected by barnacle wifi. The tethering still works but after about 15 mins online Barnacle throws an error because my phone drops the data connection for about 15 second or so. Barnacle waits for the interface to come back up then restarts the NAT but I have to force close and restart the app to get tethered again. Sometimes I can be online for a half hr sometimes only 5 mins. This even happens if I'm not tethered. I've been using the browser and the google play store before and had them both give me connection errors while my phone dropped data connection and reconnected. I'm no newb as I had a droid 2 and rooted that through the SDK and I have both Fedora core 16 and windows xp dual boot on my laptop. I can compile and install most applications and source packages but I'm just not sure where to start on this? Where does android store its network logs & kernel logs? If someone could help that would be awesome as I am rooted and can't return the phone because of the flash counter flag that voids the warranty once its been flashed. ?????
