Strength of that back glass

Interesting what this guy says happened while he was getting ready to video his drop test. Phone standing up, slips, falls over on it's back and cracks the back glass. The rest of the vid is crap as after a couple of drops he literally smashes the pixel against the concrete. Waste of a good pixel.

Interesting how people will destroy a perfectly good expensive phone and others are still waiting for their back ordered ones so they can actually use them as they should be used. Oh, the ironies of life.

Let us hope that Google denies him any of its products or services unto the end of time.

"Unfortunately no Glass 5" You don't have it because its a failure. Glass 4 has been proven better. That's why Google decided against it. Gorilla Glass 5 was shattering in testing.

Does anyone else think it's ironic to even focus on a phone's aesthetic design if everyone's gonna slap a case on it anyway?

I personally don't think the pixel is that gorgeous. More functionality than pretty looking. I'd put on a case.

I'm trying not to rage but I'm waiting on 3 cases to arrive from Amazon and Google and I picked up a decent scratch on my back panel in the corner. I'm definitely OCD and am extremely careful with my phone's. So much so that until my case arrived I wouldn't even put the phone in my pocket because I was aware of it being less scratch resistant. Makes me question the entire build quality of a device having had it 3 days total and this happening.

What I find disturbing is that the back is supposed to be GG4, just like the front, but in the video below (starting at 1:34) it shows the back glass scratching when exposed to a much softer abrasive.

If this is truly the same formulation of GG, this should not have happened.

Heres a pic. Again I can't stress enough how careful I am and have been with this and all my phone's. My impression, the back glass is pathetic.

If you're planning on carrying the phone 'naked,' this Slickwrap might be worth consideriing to give it a bit of impact and full scratch protection. I've got a RhinoShield Bumper on order (the drop protection on these is pretty insane) but figure that would mate well to it.
