Very hard time typing on something so narrow, I don't know what to do.

I tried all the keyboards and I still type bad.

I type best on iphones...

Does anyone has issues with the slim design of the s8/x and prefer the 16.9 ratio?

Has anyone thought of going back to a wider phone?

It took me a bit to get used to but in okay with it now. Can you type in landscape mode alright? I agree, I liked the 16:9 ratio better as well.

I love the width of my S8+. After the iPhone 7 Plus I'd been using, this felt so compact but with a good sized screen. On the S8+, with the lovely BlackBerry keyboard, I'm able to type one-handed in most conditions.

(FYI -- I'm caseless, with just a dbrand skin on the back. So no extra width from a case to deal with.)

Edit: OP, are you using the S8 or S8+?

Switching to something wider? Hell no. I love this form factor, makes one hand use/typing so easy. Especially with Gboard swipe typing. In fact I used to love the iOS default keyboard but now I can't type on my wife's 6S, I have to press harder. The S8+ screen is very sensitive.

I spent a lot of time comparing phones on www.phonearena.com as well as buying a few looking at width, weight trying to find an ideal.

The Mate 9 is wide and thought it would be perfect.
Played with PRIV and also BlackBerry DTEK phones as well as BB virtual keyboard.

Didn't say if you use 6S form factor or Plus model - and yet seems like you went with the S8??

I came from an iPhone 7+ and prefer this design. It's just easier to hold and I don't see a typing impact. If you have big mits then maybe you would like a wider design.

6s regular

I typed better lol

I just installed the blackberry kepboard...

I'm used to two handed typing, maybe I need to go one hand or start swiping.

I use Gboard. Always preferred swiping keyboards and Apple has yet to implement one properly. I type better on my Sammy. This coming from someone who last owned an iPhone 7+. BTW very pleased about the battery life enhancements the past couple years. I've flipped back and forth between the Plus iPhones and Android but I think I'll be sticking with Android in foreseeable future.

Thought the dimensions of Note 5 to be perfecto. Only thing I liked about the phone compared to other Note models.

i have same feelings....and i considered selling my s8+ for something with a 6" 16:9 screen.....but couldnt find anything with all them features....waterproof, good camera with OIS, sd card reader, amoled.
