Stuck at " Android is updating... Starting apps. "

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that had an issue during a software update. I used Odin 3.10.6 to do a recovery. That passed and then on reboot all 122 apps were optimised. Now it has been stuck at "Android is upgrading... Starting apps. " for 3 hours. This seems a very long time. Does anyone have any ideas what I must do next?

It sounds like something it still wrong. First, try forcing the device to power off, let it sit for a moment, then power it back on.

If that doesn't work, I suggest doing the Odin flash again, but make sure that you follow the instructions to the letter. Often, people have problems because they left one of the check boxes checked or not checked when it should have been. It's been a while since I played with Odin, but it seems like a remember the "F Reset Time" being a checkbox that I always had to uncheck. Google "galaxy s6 edge unroot" and that should find you instructions for restoring your device to factory condition.

Also, make certain that you used the correct firmware. Often, using firmware from the wrong model of device can cause problems like this.
