OK. This phone (LG Optimus S (Sprint)) was rooted and had Reborn's Rom on it. I was going to factory reset and take everything back to stock). Went into Privacy menu and hit factory rest (later I found out this was not wise). Everything I have found in this forum has not helped. Tried to flash official ZVD update.zip. Did not work. Tried KP500 and it did not work. Any suggestions?????

Believe me, that is all I have been doing. I have read the same forums. Going through them with a fine tooth comb. Trying this, resetting, trying that. The biggest issue I know right now is no matter what driver I download, the computer will not recognize the phone via usb. I have uninstalled drivers, re-download them. Tried different cables, even different ports. Nothing I do is working.
No not rom manager. I have seen to many posts where that app will break your phone.

There is no official CWM for Optimus S. Are you using Xionia or Cannibal Open Touch?
