Stuck on CM7 Boot Logo

I got the phone like this from someone else so I do not know what they did exactly to get it this way. I have had this same problem happen on a Droid, which I was able to fix by going into recovery and reflashing it. The problem here is I don't know how to get into recovery on this phone. I've searched around and found conflicting button combinations, and I have tried all of them. I am able to get it into emergency mode by holding back and vol- and plugging in it in to usb.

remove battery

insert battery

hold Home, Volume Up, and Power until the LG logo turns black. once it does, let go of all the buttons and in a few moments recovery will boot.

there are many different recoveries for this phone.

if it says ClockworkMod, make sure its version 3.2.0.1 or higher or any roms you flash will NOT flash correctly.

if its xionia, make sure you wipe at least twice or more, as that recovery has a problem wiping the data of an old rom 100%

That doesn't seem to do anything. The gray logo goes black and then I release the buttons. Then the red logo comes up and then the CM7 logo.

The proper buttons are holding Vol-DOWN, Home, and Power until LG logo.

volume down doesnt do a damn thing on my personal V. volume up gets me into recovery.

yeah that is weird, which recovery do you have? vol-down works on Clockworkmod recovery.

Does volume up turn the volume up or down?
Im thinking on my DX it was vol - home and power also.
Ive seen people post vol+ home and power and IIRC mmarz said that should put it in another state and not recovery. However I didnt correct them because Im lazy.

The LG logo flashes and then I release the buttons. A blank screen comes on for a few seconds (as in the video), but then it goes to the red logo and then the CM7 logo. Could there be something wrong with the recovery?

Well, I was able to use fastbootroot and revert it to stock.

when im in ANY rom, volume rocker works as expected. up is up and down is down. inside the recovery, volume rocker works as expected.

regardless of recovery, volume + and home button get me into recovery. I use clockworkmod, but it gets me in even when I have xionia recovery flashed to the phone.

i didnt think anything of it becuase this power button combo works on two of my friends Optimus Vs as well.
