Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to be honest a bit out of my depth but I hope someone can help. I have a 2012 nexus 7 and after deciding to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat I religiously followed the relevant youtube videos. Armed with usb drivers and developer options enabled I downloaded the factory image and unzipped the files. All was going well and I followed the instructions and got to finally activate the flash all instruction in the DOS window.
It all started well and then a few unknown errors cropped upduring download and after several attempts at it I had to give up. Now I've come back to have another crack at it and although the tablet will boot to the bootloader screen the computer fails to recognise it and the device manager shows unknown device. Have I bricked it or if not how do I recover the situation?
Here's hoping
Steve:(

Does it show up in fastboot and do you have custom recovery?
If no to both then I'm sorry you have a hard brick.
If yes to first flash a system image (google the method for your device)
If yes to second then look for sideload (not available on all recoveries) and flash zips via adb
