What are the grey\orange circles on the right of the people in the "People" app?

How do I star people? In stock android it was just a little star on the contact, but I don't see that here.

I think those are people with Qik accounts. Grey = offline, green = online. At least as far as I can figure.

As for "Starring" people I think the Sense equivalent is to add them to a particular group, say "favorites" for example.
