I am not sure if anybody is aware of this app but IMO it is one of the best apps out there and takes advantage of the "4G" speeds of the G2. Stream your entire music collection to your phone (you can also download it directly for offline listening) or to any computer you want. I have been using this since I got my G2 and it is a very very good service.

Badass, thanks. Google did acquire SimplifyMedia which did the same thing, so it's safe to assume this functionality will be included in the OS soon enough, but until then I'll check this out.

Can't get it to work on my phone and I'm definitely not paying over $10 for a feature that'll be built into Android as soon as Google Music comes out...

You might have some problems with port forwarding if you are using a router. If you know a little about it, it should be easy to set up. You get 30 days (obviously haven't used it up since I just started using it). Its worth a definite look. Can't wait till Google builds it in as they showed at I/O

Subsonic is a PITA to install and doesn't work any better than Audio Galaxy in my opinion. I've spent a few days playing with both and I can't think of a single thing that Subsonic does better. Neither of them are perfect and both have sub-par user interfaces. But at least Audio Galaxy was easy to setup.

Subsonic is supposed to now support video streaming but I can't get it to work on my optimus. I thin it ma have something to do with not having flash.

Things subsonic do that many people over look:
Jukebox Mode
Real-time transcoding
Controllable transcoding
Location specific players
Video streaming w/ transcoding
Offline caching
Podcast catcher

Installation of Subsonic is not hard in the least if you've ever forwarded a port before.

I have forwarded many ports before, thanks. Still didn't work.

Only thing on that list that looks cool that Audiogalaxy doesn't do is Offline Caching, but that's why I have DoubleTwist. Not the whole library, but 7 gigs of it is enough for when I don't have reception

Not knocking you on it, just stating I had no issues.

I liked Subsonic over DoubleTwist because I hat relying on software to manage my music device.

Subsonic is dope. Worked great on my Moment and works great on Evo Shift. Had no problems setting it up, not sure how anyone is having problems..

Another feature overlooked is the ability to create user accounts and that it's not Android specific - I can stream/download my music collection anywhere that I have a data connection. Donated and haven't regretted it once.

I still can't get video to work on my Optimus even with transcoding. I've got both Subsonic and Audio Galaxy installed currently and unless I can figure the video thing out I'll get rid of one of them. Most likely Subsonic.
