I have heard rumors that The Netflix App on GoogleTV specifically on Logitech Revue & Sony has Subtitles enabled. I do not currently own a GoogleTV and have no way to test it. Can anyone confirm this with screen shots??
How to check?? Netflix only has English Subtitles enabled on select titles (currently about 700). They currently have been confirmed to be working on PC & Mac Web Browsers, Wii & PS3 Gaming systems and on the new Boxee Box Netflix App.
Here are a few titles known to have subtitles that you can test:
About a Boy (2002)
Above the Law (1988)
All About the Benjamins (2002)
The Answer Man (2009)
on the movie description page there will be a "Subtitles & Audio" button/option. (This is the same area where SAP options, like Spanish Audio, will be placed). This shows up differently on each platform. On Wii it is a button, on Boxee, it is a menu option.
I would love to have a screen shot of the screen showing the Subtitles/Audio option and a screen shot of a movie in progress with subtitles displayed (yellow lettering). Boxee forums was able to successfully capture this information for me here and I have been sharing it with folks on my blog, which lists all of the 700 titles since Netflix doesn't.
I would love to formally announce GoogleTV as the 6th platform showing netflix subtitles.
Anyone up for this challenge??
If you are able to get this info, please confirm which type of GoogleTV you are using (Logitech Revue, Sony, etc.)
