I've had to keep my s10 on power saving mode recently, because if I don't my battery just gets eaten up and I don't know why.all of a sudden my phone only lasts for a few hours before dying, when I used to be able to go most of the day before it was really low. Any ideas what the problem ?

Welcome to Android Central! Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which may show Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Which power save mode medium?

My go to move is a restart. Unless there's a rogue app sucking up the battery, this always worked for me.

Welcome to Android Central! You mean a known issue for Android 10 on the S10? It's certainly not a universal Android 10 problem across all devices.

I'm on an S10 + running Android 10 on Verizon. Right now I still have 35% battery life left with over 7 hours screen on time. I run on Optimized mode with full screen resolution. Definitely something going on if the phone is loosing that much battery in a few hours.
