Sudden change in battery drain Android OS

Until a week ago, I was pretty happy with my GN with the extended battery which would last me about 10 hours with my regular use. About a week ago as usual I downloaded new freebie apps from amazon and a couple of random apps to try. Suddenly, my battery as been draining at a considerably quicker pace. Originally I would loose about 10% and hour, now I am loosing 13% in about 40 minutes. At 38 minutes off of the battery, Android OS has used 67% and screen 22%. Overnight while I only had it on charge and not using it, it shows it was "awake" intermittently all night. For the life of me, I can figure out what caused this. Do I just keep installing every app tat I have installed over the past few weeks (I've deleted many). Has anyone had issues with Go Sms Pro? I've also checked under running apps and noticed that facebook (even when I am not logged in) shows 1 process and 1 service,

google services shows 1 process and 3 services
VZWAPPNservice shows 1 process and 1 service
SyncMLsvs shows 1 process 1 service

and a few others. Anyone have any other ideas about what I could do. I have not installed any of the task manager programs. Thanks

Try Badass Battery monitor. Install and have in there, charge full and reboot. After a couple hours check it under App Sucker and filter by # of wake locks and time held awake, power used, etc... should give you a list and better idea of what exactly is holding your phone awake or draining battery.

I had this happen once a few days ago. Installed a couple apps and then that night it drained from 65% to dead in about 6 hours without use with android OS as the top battery user. I uninstalled the apps and disabled amazon app store with rootappdelete. I also reflashed my ROM so instead of figuring out what was the problem I kind of carpet bombed the issue. Needless to say it stopped happening.

Thanks. Iaughably, I have rooted every android phone I've had aside from th e GN. I'll try Badass battery monitor first, then reconsider root.

What is system "wake lock" , anyone have an idea?

Unspecified, its just your system performing tasks. If you followed as I suggested earlier and want to post screenshots of what you see under # of wake locks and time held awake, etc.. I can maybe help you figure out what's up.

2defmouze i am goinf to do as you suggested when i charge overnite. I installed badass monitor and was just looking at what it saw initially thanks

I installed badass monitor as well and for some reason the email was waking the system up a few hundred times.

... Has anyone had issues with Go Sms Pro? ...

Oddly, recently, yes. I've noticed the dreaded 'android system' battery usage percentage that shoots through the roof and my battery drops through the floor, and it always started happening around 10-11am daily for me. I've been trying to nail it down for a few weeks now by singling out apps and using trackers. I finally have realized that GoSMS was the culprit as people started texting me around that time. I also use it to blacklist the Sprint VVM (Visual Voice Mail) 9016 text, and there appears to be some issues there as well. I'm still testing more before I claim victory as it's only the second day, but it was very repeatable before.
