So today I found a couple of apps that are not on the play store so I downloaded the .apk for it and when I go to install I can't tap the install button it let's me hit cancel I've installed one of these things before didn't want it anymore so I got rid of it decided I wanted it again and now it won't let me hit install I know my touch screen is fine as I turned on the show touches on in developer options in the settings and it shows I'm tapping but it's acting like I'm not anyone know anything?

Did you enable the ability to install apks from unknown sources in the security options?
I haven't had any issues but I'm not on CM10, Jelly Belly at the moment.

Yes I checked about 3 times and even tried unchecking it and rechecking it a couple of times the install button is just unresponsive and like I said I turned on visible touches so I could see the touch point so I know it's not my touch screen

Some early versions of 4.2 roms have been having issues handling the new way user folders are setup. Might be related. I'd go read through the 10.1 thread on xda and see if anyone has reported it.

It's not cm10.1 it's plain cm10 the one stable version so until the issue gets worked out I'm on aokp but I miss cm10 so bad

Have this issue on my Samsung Galaxy S3 cm10 stable, sometimes restarting your phone or downloading the apk again works

Most times it doesn't

I had this problem and it was due to another app called Screen Filter running that caused this behavior, believe it or not. As soon as I turned Screen Filter off the "Install" button worked.

Ok I'll try that thanks

EDIT: and just like that I can install apks again thanks a bunch :D

I had the same problem last night, which lead me to this post. I don't have screen filter installed, but in my case the app EyeProtector (Night Mode) was the culprit. Very strange bug indeed! Galaxy s3 (4.1.2)

Thankx brother..u saved me..turn off the ******* screen filter and install. It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanx thanx

Same here, RotationManager app was The problem.
Its not a bug its actually an android feature up to 4.4.4 i havent confirmed for lollipop, whenever an app that performes filtering on the display like blue light reduction, dimming w.t.c is enabled
Outside-Market app installations are disallowed
