Suddenly I'm getting notifications for updates from the Samsung Store, for apps I normally update through Google Play. One time I allowed these updates I think I wound up canceling one of them before they finished. when all other occasions I have canceled them and waited for updates from the Play Store only. Then today, three or four of the apps included in a notification this morning from the Samsung store were finance apps, including PayPal for example. I remove the notification and checked the Google Play Store. None of those updates were available there. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anybody have any useful information about this?

Welcome to Android Central. Thank you for registering it will make communication easier.

I have a Samsung but have never gotten an offer to update anything that didn't come from Samsung. The Amazon App Store used to do this often but that was awhile ago.

What device do you have?

Are these all mainstream apps? You mentioned PayPal but none of them are like obscure apps. Not sure if I'm being clear or muddying the water with this question so answer how you feel or share another app name or two to give a better idea of which apps or type of apps we're talking about. Apps that everyone has heard of I guess would be a better way of saying it.

I went to the Galaxy Store to kind of look around for apps that I have installed from the Play Store vs apps they offer and I don't find PayPal in the line-up at all. I found Coupons PayPal and PayPal Business but not regular old everyday PayPal...? I found Castbox, which I got from Google but when I go to it I'm presented with Open or Uninstall. Without an update pending not sure what else I'd find but I did find the ratings were vastly different from the Galaxy Store to the Play Sore. That's something I used to see a lot of when I was doing Amazon. It would be the "same app", I mean it would have the same name and be by the same developers but for some reason the Amazon version would always be trash. It always seemed odd to me.

So all of that brought up some interesting questions, but the questions we really need the answers to are;

What device do you have?

Which apps are we talking about?
