Allright first post on this side of the Cenral world (Precentral user). Just recieved my first Android powered phone Samsung Epic 4G .... etc. a couple of days ago. Former Pre User.

Because I bought the phone through Amazon I got $5 to spend at the Amazon Appstore. Being that I have limited experiance using Android, wife has and EVO 4G. What should I spend my $5 bucks on. All opinions count just looking for some ideas that I might not have seen in the browsing of the appstore.

Thanks

I kinda want to know the same thing, I switched from using iPhone for the last 4 years. What's the best android apps out there guys! I miss my iPhone app store and how many apps/devs it had ....

SwiftKey x keyboard.

Are the only apps I've paid for. There is a ton of good free apps.

Former Pre user here also. An app I used on the Pre and now using on this phone. Sports Calendar.

Not speaking from experience, because I haven't bought the bullet (so to speak) of purchasing the app, but I hear Tasker is the android equivalent to Mode Switcher, an app I dearly miss.

Yeah mode switcher was soooo good. So many options it was almost too much. But so great.

I got my favorite that I had on my Pre, Newsroom!

That was my first app for Android!

And use the Android 's 'Market' app!

Search for just the free apps of you want to.

Ya newsroom is by far THE BEST Rss reader in my opinion! I first had it on the pre when the pre launched And have had it on android since the Hero!

Swift x keyboard is free @ Getjar (as is Beautiful Widgets, but that one hasn't been talked about yet in this thread :) )

I'll add a +1 for SwiftKey X. The text prediction is great and saves me a lot of time. If you want to put together a great lock screen, I highly recommend Widget Locker ($2) it lets you put customer sliders (tons of themes you can use) and add a lot of useful stuff. I started a thread about lock screens

http://forums.androidcentral.com/sprint-galaxy-s-ii-epic-4g-touch/123996-lockscreens.html

That also includes a few images of what people used as well as a couple of links to XDA for some custom themes.

As someone else noted, you have to get the Amazon App store for your phone (free) and every day they have a paid app that they give you for free. I've picked up quite a few full verisons of apps I was using a free version of.
