I am having a difficult time finding a simple productivity app for "to do" lists. Something that you can easily make a list of chores or groceries and have a little box next to it so you can check it when it is done, and maybe even priority assignment (but isn't necessary).

Does anyone have a FREE app like that, that they like?

I use Taskos. I like it. It is simple but has a lot of functionality. You can prioritize (low medium and high). You can make different categories for tasks. You can also set due dates and reminders for tasks. You can also scroll through all your tasks from the home screen widget.

Thanks guys, I have downloaded them both and will play with them for a while to see which one I like better.

Wunderlist will be out in the next 10 days or so, you will want to check it out, it is simple, basic and syncs with laptop other devices, i love it

tried them all and use our groceries. LOVE IT.
I use it for shopping, to do lists, etc. and my wife's ipod touch syncs up to it and if something gets done, off of our list!

I have used "Out of Milk" for both grocery lists and To Do lists. You can have mulitple different grocery lists going (ie, Hardware store, Costco, etc). You can rearrange the order of items (just slide it up or down in relation to other items). If you long press on the item, it draws a line through it and drops it to the bottom of the list. Long press again, and it rejoins the list (nice for things you need often). If you short press, you get multiple options including deleting the item.

@albertdc, that one sounds great! That is just what I was looking for, I'll give it a shot.

I've been using Sticky Notes.

You can make widgets with different color stick note pad icons with different titles. I have one for supplies which is in yellow, one for work in red and one for my travel stuff I need to pack in blue.

I use ToMarket for my grocery lists (my "every day" list and another one specifically for Thanksgiving).

Similar to the poster above me, I use ColorNote for "to do" or things I need to remember. I create the "post it" note in the application where I can also change the color, and then I can add it as a widget to my home screen (long press, add widget, select ColorNote from the list, then select the note you want added). That way it's in front of me til it's done. You can also set alarms on ColorNote.

ETA: ColorNote also has a "task list" option so you can create a sticky note task list that crosses out as you check things off.
