super one click

I've been trying to use superoneclick to root my OG Droid and I'm having some issues. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and I can get it to load but when I click root it just closes on me. I tried running it in a vm using virtualbox but it doesn't recognize my device.

Can anyone help?

Do you have the correct drivers installed for your droid? If not you can get them from moto's website.

I'm running Ubuntu, not windows. Drivers don't really matter. Superoneclick recognizes the device but it hangs at a certain point

Are you on 2.2 or 2.2.1? If your on 2.2.1 I don't think superoneclick works, I know for a fact that z4root doesn't work with 2.2.1

Yeah it's 2.2.1. Yeah z4root definitely doesn't work and I can't get superoneclick to work either so either I can't configure it right on Ubuntu or you're right and it doesn't work either... How am I supposed to root then?? lol

I'm not sure how to go about rooting from Ubuntu...might wanna check out some posts over at XDA, they might have some useful info for you.
