Swap LG Apps With Stock Android

I just moved from a Nexus 5 to a G3 and the biggest annoyance is the lack of stock Android apps (like the dialer, People app, etc.)
Is there any way to put the stock apps onto the phone without having to root?
If root is required, what is the easiest way to downgrade from 5.0.2 to a rootable rom?

All ROMs are rootable, once an exploit for that particular ROM is found. Check on XDA Forums on the G3 forum to see the latest version they have a root method for.

I would recommend rooting and flashing your own aosp apps. Downgrade with the kdz or lg tool method found on XDA.
