I have an ATT Note 2 with a cracked screen. I was told that you have to replace the whole LCD/Digitizer and not just the LCD because of the way the phone is manufactured. My question is if I find a Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile LCD/Digitizer cheaper will it fit properly on my ATT Note 2? I've searched and haven't really seen a clear "yeah it will" or "no it won't" answer so that is why I'm posting. I figure the dimensions would be the same, but who knows. Any help would be appreciated; especially if you've sucessfully done this. Thanks for your time.

You can replace just the digitizer only but will require you to heat the front glass as the adhesive is pretty sticky, a replacement digitizer is now more then 50 or so off of ebay.

if you dont posses the skills in taking a device apart i would suggest you do not, as you can damage more then just the lcd, there are very small ribbon cables that are very delicate that you have to remove also. search on youtube for a video and decide from there.

zmann that's the same thing i thought. so i ordered a replacement screen. then i read over on xda that once you separate the screen from the digitizer that the touchscreen won't be as responsive due to the adhesive they use to "fuse" the two. but i dont know of anyone who has done this and i don't want to take it somewhere to just have the lcd replaced and then wind up with a screen that half works ya know. i want it done right the 1st time. thanks for replying everyone. keep on bringing the knowledge lol.

not to mention when i try to shop for just a digitizer all i can find are the ones for the N7100 or or T889. i think the T889 is the tmobile version; which is the same as the ATT note 2. i just want to be sure before i spend any more money lol.

The phones are the same the differences are in the software they use. So yes you can use a T-mobile Note 2 screen with an ATT Note 2.

ok cool. i appreciate that. i'm going to a local repair store after work today to see if they can just change the lcd screen. if not then i will try to find a cheap lcd/digitizer combo.

Thanks for the info. I'll tell you what,, it's not that hard. My daughter has a iphone and broke the screen. I bought the screen /digitizer and it came with the tools needed. I watched a YouTube video showing step by step how to change and I did it for her.

Note 2, it's true, ,size is everything!

I feel more comfortable having someone with prior cell phone repair experience do it. It may not be that hard, but just because you watch a lot of House doesn't make you a surgeon ya know lol. I'll see what the repair shop says today. I appreciate you all taking the time and letting me know my options. I'll keep you posted.

But can you swap the st edge whole screen assembly to a AT&T. Phone, that's the lcd/digitizer screen from a Verizon st edge and use it on a AT&T s6 edge?
