SwiftKey lag

Lately I've been getting some serious lag with SwiftKey. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does its super annoying. The phone will basically freeze, and then type one letter at a time for a word or two to "catch up". I've cleared the cache, but the problem persists and Idk what else to do to try and fix it. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Having some issues as well.

Frankly SwiftKey has gotten worse over time instead of better. It is not working like it did.

But I haven't found anything better.

To be honest I always found 3rd party keyboards and custom skins to be quite laggy whereas the stock keyboard (whether Sense or Google) is much smoother and snappier. It is the only reason why I choose to use the stock Sense keyboard rather than all the other 3rd party ones which have better features.

I don't use Swiftkey, only briefly tried it but went back to Swype, but it has some options for capturing words/predictions from other apps... try turning all that stuff off and see if it makes a difference. The only times I have seen keyboard lag is on older devices where lack of memory becomes a problem. You might try tapping the app switcher and hitting the X to close them all out and see if that helps, but it seems improbable that the M8 is running low on memory with the way HTC does things. But perhaps some other apps are hogging memory somehow?

I have seen that too, I thought it was just me. I am thinking of trying a different app. I will email swiftkey and tell them.

I just emailed them and will let everyone know what they say.

Cool. It's not like lag all the time. Most of the time it's fine then it just hits a brick wall and basically stops typing for a few seconds while it slowly types in the last word I typed. It's odd.

I am running the beta now and this build is rock solid so far.

Although I am an avid HTC Sense keyboard since the Sense 4 days, I decided to give Swift Key a shot. I downloaded and installed it from the Google Play Store and it looks really impressive but I find it to be quite laggy as mentioned above. It's definitely not smooth as I'd have expected, but I am guessing this is fixed in the beta version. My question is where do I get the Beta version from? I tried googling to no avail. Thanks!

Beta version is just as laggy on my phone. I've no idea how people use Swiftkey on the m8 as the animations are so slow it become distracting. It used to work fine on my nexus 5. I even tried a factory reset and it made no difference unfortunately.

I'd used the beta previously then they sent me an email about how to get it through their new beta process. I would check the blog on the swiftkey web site, might say how there

What build are you using? I am using 5.0.0.25 and it is great on mine.

Used to lag on my z2, then i rooted it, flashed cm11 - nothing changed. Lolipop came out, flashed cm12 - same lag. 5.1 came, flashed cm12.1 - same lag. Now bought brand new galaxy edge - lag as before. Its such a great keyboard, such a shame, but i give up.
