The marketing literature for the Galaxy Watch mentions its waterproofness, but I haven't seen anything about whether it will offer the same lap-counting capabilities of the Gear Sport. Would appreciate it if anyone could confirm or deny that...

I saw a reviewer interview an employee and they said that it would be coming in a future update. I cant think remember for the life of me who the reviewer was. It was a smaller channel.

FWIW, now that I've gotten the watch and had a chance to play with it, there is a "Swim Workout" widget that tracks time and lengths swam. I'll be curious to hear if anyone gets a chance to try it in the pool (I might return mine).
