Swipe up/down on fingerprint sensor still works?

On the S9 phones (and probably others too) you could swipe down on the rear capacitive fingerprint sensor to show the notification shade and swipe up on the sensor (from the home screen) to bring up Samsung Pay. Has anyone read whether this will still work with the new in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint senor and how it might work?

Swiping up from the bottom of the screen currently brings up Samsung Pay. Not sure what swiping up from slightly above it at the fingerprint sensor (FPS) would add.

At the home screen, since the phone is unlocked I would think the FPS would be inactive and any swipes in that area would be normal screen reaction.

I guess someone will have to confirm when they have an S10 in their hand.

Good point about swipe up from bottom. I've gotten in the habit at checkouts to unlock with my fingerprint, then swipe up on the sensor to pay (then fingerprint again to authorize the payment). It's a minor point, but all three motions are on the fingerprint sensor so it requires little fuss. Sounds like I'd need to get used to another set of steps.

It will pretty much be the same steps only now in the front you will unlock with FPS, then swipe up from the bottom for Samsung Pay, tap and authorize with FPS. But there's actually even a shorter way than the way you're doing it now. You can actually set it up so you can swipe up while the screen is off or on the lock screen to bring up Samsung Pay, tap and authorize with fingerprint. No need to unlock with your fingerprint first.

Only applies to the swipe up for Samsung Pay, not to swipe down for notifications

Ah yeah I'd assume that would be gone. You can still enable swipe down for notifications from anywhere on the screen but only on the Home screen.

I don't have the phone... but I'm sure the ultrasonic only comes into play with the phone is locked.

So when at the home screen you can swipe swipe down from any part of the screen to bring down the notification screen like it did on previous phones. And Samsung Pay will swipe up when you swipe from the bottom of the screen.

Of course you don't want the ultrasonic to be enabled while unlocked because that would be annoying being in any app where you want to scroll up or down on your app content and accidentally pulling up or down a menu because you swiped over that area... unless the app enables it for it's own use... like LastPass??
