OK, so I tried the CM7 and even did the data2ext. Well I don't like CM7, IMO reborn is much better.
So now if i format the SDcard will that also remove the partition that data2ext used? I just want to reclaim the space on the SDcard sine it can not be used with reborn.
The second thing is when I installed CM7 it changed my Prl to some 60*** number. I was hoping when I did my nandroid restore it would go back to.my 1115 Prl number. I know that was it because my wife's is 01115. Any ideas how to get it back?

When you were on Reborn, did you make a nandroid? I would assume that if so, your PRL would go back to what it was?

Yea I have multiple nandroids saved on my pc.
I was thinking the same thing but it didn't.

I'm pretty sure reformatting the sd isn't going to reclaim your partition space you have to use a certain program to merge the two partitions. I'm not on my computer right now so I can't say which.

PRLs survive data wipes, rom flashes, nandroids, etc. The only two ways I know of to change a PRL is through the settings menu "update PRL" and QPST.

You can use the second SD partition after switching back to Reborn ROM if you install the Xionia kernel (which has support for ext file systems) and run Link2SD from the market. It allows you to move selected apps (along with cache and libs) to the sdext partition and leave system-type apps in internal memory. It won't allow you to move any real system apps but you could move ADW Launcher to the SD card when you probably should leave it in internal so it will continue to work if you remove your SD card from the phone. Link2SD leaves an app's data internal. There is another app called Root All 2 SD which allows you to move a chosen app's data to a psuedo-ext2 partition contained in a file on the original Fat32 SD partition. I have just started to look into this one so I can't report on how well it works but Link2SD works well on Froyo-based ROMs.

If Lichan'smethod is not what you are looking for and you absolutely want to gain the space back on your main sd card partition you will have to repartition the entire sd card as a single partition instead of 2, easiest done from a linux program such as gparted; otherwise formatting it won't actually effect the partition sizes etc it will just wipe the contents on the partitions... Remember to backup your sd card to your computer before trying partition it as that will wipe the entire contents as well.

PS. If you don't have linux and don't want to install linux you can just download ubuntu and run it as a live os straight off a cd or usb drive they should have the info to do so on their website.

You can download an iso image of gparted and write it to a CD which will then boot into gparted on your windows system and allow you to get rid of the sdext partition and add it to the FAT32 partition without losing your data on the partition. In theory, at least. It's best to back up your sd card just in case, because I just shrunk my sdext partition from 4G to 1.2G with this bootable gparted which worked fine but when adding it to the FAT32 partition it errored out so while partition programs saw it larger, Windows and Android saw it as it's original size so I had to go in and reformat it anyway and restore the backup. But all's well that end's well.

Nope. You're doomed. :p

What everybody else said... Why the preference for reborn? Not that it isn't a nice rom, just curious?
