I currently have a jailbroken iPhone 4 using StraightTalk sim card (AT&T). I'm considering switching to a GS3 on Straight Talk, I am wondering if I can just get an AT&T GS3, and use my Straight Talk sim card? Is this even possible, or would it be too big of a hassle. Jailbreaking the iPhone was a pain, and that is why I'm switching. I want to get away from all this jailbreaking/unlocking mess. Any help is appreciated.

if u are using straight talk have you considered Nexus 5 or Moto G($179 or $200 off contract)

why go with old phone which will be abandoned in few months

this phone will be around but software update from samsung will stop after probably the KitKat

I don't think it will make it past 4.3.

To the OP, I would suggest a Nexus 5 from Play as well.

Just checked out the Nexus 5 and that thing is a bit big for my liking. Anyway, my original question was can I use my current microSim from my iPhone in the SG3 without jailbreaking or any big hassle like that?

You should be able to use your StraightTalk micro-SIM in an AT&T phone without having to root (what you call jailbreaking) it.
You may have to update the APN information but that's readily available.

Be sure you get a smoking deal on the S3 ($100 or less) or you really are better off with the Nexus 5. You'll grow into the extra screen size in no time, and you'll have the best OS support.

Edit: BTW, according to the AC review that I just looked at, the Nexus 5 display is 4.95" (diagonal) and the Galaxy S3 display is 4.8" - a pretty trivial difference.

Ok, I'm reconsidering the Nexus 5, will my microSim work in it? If so would I just have to change the APN settings? I'm not super tech savvy, but I'm not a complete knucklehead either. Do they make the Nexus 5 for AT&T? (so I can use the microsim)

You can use the Nexus 5 on any carrier but Verizon so yes Straight Talk, ATT, Gophone, T-Mobile, etc. Yes I'm pretty sure it takes a micro SIM... Or is it a mini SIM?
