Switching From Note 2 to S4 Question

I currently have a Note 2 and I am getting a spectacular deal on a S4 and want to give it a try for a few days to decide if I want to keep it or sell it. Is it literally just a matter of pulling the SIM card from my Note 2 and putting it in the S4 and the s4 will work with no effect on my plan (unlimited)?

Yep. It's that easy. Once you pop your SIM into the new phone it will automatically connect using your account. Think of a SIM card like your username and password.. So placing it into the device logs you onto the network with your rights (plan).

Unfortunately not. At least not by default. Typically your contacts will be tied to your Google account, so once you login you should see your contacts on the new device.

For some brands, like HTC, the phone defaults your newly added contacts to the phone's storage, so you will have to send them to your Google account for them to transfer. Just try to login and see if your contacts populate first.

You can Export your contacts to the SIM card (and subsequently Import them in a new phone), but that may be redundant if your contacts are already saved in Google.
