Switching from s4 to s8

[Android Central Question]

Have tried both by wireless and lead but it keeps showing no nearby galaxy phone found.
Have tried numerous times both ways and followed the instructions but still no luck. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't think you can use smart switch from s4 and I wouldn't if you could , thats old android version going to s8 , just use cable to transfer pictures and texts , contacts

Oh I see. OP mentioned not being able to successfully connect via USB cable, though.
