Hey Guys,

So I've been a long time WP user, and IPhone before it. After dealing with a couple of years beta-ware software from M$, basically ever since they switched their focus onto windows 10 (Thanks Nadella!)and losing app support I figured it was time I jumped ship.
My big requirement was that wherever I landed had a great DAC. Sony seems to have skimped out this year, and the LG G5 has its defects (and they have yet to bring their DAC stateside) so I've ordered with the HTC 10!

This is my very first Android phone, and the last time I gave android any bit of a serious look was around the time the original Samsung galaxy was released. does anyone have any helpful hints or tips for a beginner like me?

Being that DAC was a priority, you couldn't have made a better choice.
Regarding differences, I hated Windows Phones because they don't actually feel anything like desktop windows! I love Android because it is laid out in a way that feels more like the best desktop Windows versions (Win7 for instance), which I find to be very nice in terms of both aesthetic and organization. My mind can't deal with filing system type organization. I like things arranged more like a house, where certain things are in this room, other things in another. There's an aesthetic quality to Android that pretty much keeps me hooked to this system, even if I hate google.

HTC's Sense basically makes Android easy, friendly, and intuitive so I think you'll do just fine jumping right in.

good to know it will be familiar to a classic desktop! I am honestly hesitant about Linux, and a fragmented OS, but that is also probably what will make it fun. I'm sure there will always be something to tinker with.

As to your concerns about Android fragmentation, I'd have to say that what I'm seeing with the 10 is more convergent than divergent. HTC have hewn closer to vanilla Android with this iteration than any other manufacturer (save the Nexus devices).
