Switching phones and insurance

I have a DX as my phone and got the insurance with that phone.

What would happen if I switched to another phone like D2G or DPro when I go overseas but then when I return and go back to the DX? And if something happened to my DX and I need to make an insurance claim, would they send me another DX or send me a D2G.

Or if I got a DINC and used it then went back to the DX and something happened. Another DX or DINC they would send me.

From what I was told by a vzw manager the insurance is for the account so if you break one phone and its not active on the line asurion is going to only be able to insure the active phone... the minute u go back to your main phone after the trip your insurance is back on it...
