Switching screen resolution

Now that I have Nougat I tried some of power saving options. I really can't tell the difference between HD and the highest setting. It seems dimmer but that might just be the - 10% setting. Other than when using VR has anyone noticed any difference? My power draw has been overall fabulous since upgrading to Nougat and not even doing a reboot, let alone factory reset.

My wife's S7E got bumped to 7 over a recent vacation and I just left it at 1080P... she has yet to mention anything remotely related to the resolution, so I am not going to bother changing it back.

I did factory reset and don't have high performance on. I honestly don't notice a difference in screen resolution. I've always been against limiting what the phone is capable of but don't mind it when I don't freaking notice a difference.
