I love Swype, but since ICS, it randomly stops giving the suggestions above the arrows...no matter what i do in the settings. I end up having to reboot the phone. Anyone else seeing this?

Not that exactly. But I *HAVE* come to the conclusion that Swype has been suckified. For whatever reason I now suck at Swype. Either the keyboard has changed or it's error recognition and correction is messed up because while I often send the same texts repeatedly, they are almost always now messed up. While under GB I didn't even have to look at them. I mean, how do you get from "hey" to "germane"?

Oh, thanks, I thought I was going nuts. Yes, sometimes I can't get the suggestions, or they come up as a pop up list in ICS style on the left side...sometimes the keyboard loses the comma and period. Sometimes it shows the uppercase letters on the keyboard continously but still types in lower case.

So do you think they rushed ICS or what?

You mean based on the Swype criticism? No. ICS as an operating system seems to me to be pretty solid. I don't think all the apps necessarily play well with it, but there isn't a lot Google can do about that. No one has the resources to test all the applications in the world that run on their platforms to make sure nothing is broken. Just ask Microsoft. We'd be waiting until the heat death of the universe for an OS update instead of whinging about it being a few weeks late :)

I am not a mental health professional, so I can't speak to anyones stability. :) But nope, you're not alone. Did the keyboard change at all? I don't remember the Gingerbread version of the keyboard well enough to say.

I just started using Swype about a week ago, having never used it before.I like it, but yes there are glitches. I changed some settings yesterday and it seems smoother to me.

8 Months is not a "rush" of anything. Unless you're building a skyscraper with playing cards. ICS was most certainly not "rushed" by anyone, at any point.

I stopped using Swype when I would try for the word "all" and it would come up EVERY TIME as "AOL". Who the freak even uses AOL anymore, and why would I text that instead of all!?!?

I loved the idea of Swype and I got so freaking fast at it. But then i'd have to spend another 15 seconds going back and correcting half the words. So I switched to SwiftKey 3. Unfortunately.

Uhhh, it was rushed hence all the bugs. They wanted so badly to hit the q2 deadline...too bad.

Ouch...it's a Razr, Maxx.

I just don't like that Swype no longer autocapitalizes a single letter 'i' in my typing. The autocapitalization only does first words of sentences. The only way I see to have it to do that is to turn on the auto-correction in word word suggestion menu but I don't want that on. Wasn't on in GB.

Thank you. I agree. I've come to the same conclusion. I used to be wicked-fast with swype on my old samsung galaxy S. It was outstanding at predicting what I was swyping.

I like my Galaxy S III but the swype has somehow started sucking on it. I tried about eight times in a row to swype "willing" earlier today, and all eight times it kept giving me the word "working". Similar word suggestions were "writing, waiting, wouldn't, wrong, word, warp, and (my favorite) illing". Every time I did it, I carefully made sure I was hitting each letter. If you look at the shape of the swype pattern for each of those words, you kind of wonder how it could be confused about that at all. For that matter, how could it not even be one of the suggested words?

Just annoying. Like I said, I'm overall happy with the product. But SWYPE is one feature that absolutely seems to have gotten worse with the newer models.

Did you try the swirling thing on the 'L' to double select it in the Swype?

I didn't know that's how you double select a letter until I rtfm.

I'm on the Beta Swype...and through the last two updates, I seem to spend much MUCH more time going back over and correcting words. The most heinous is when I type a capital I....it turns into Kimi or :o...I've been using Swype for almost 2 years. I really do not think that my finger has changed so much that a word I always used successfully should suddenly ALWAYS get changed.

I agree that Swype has been far from perfect (I am always on the beta when I use it), and now I'm trying to get used to Swiftkey 3 again, but for fatty-fingers like me, Swiftkey is very hard to "no-look" type with.. When I say "no-look" I don't mean literally type without looking, but type while distracted with other things going on as well.. Swype is still better for this, even with its inaccuracies at times.

And yes, the biggest thing to remember with Swype is that when you are swiping a word that has double letters in, to do the double you need to draw a "loop" around the letter you're doubling.. Surprisingly, people don't know this.
