Having many problems w tips typos or wrong words using Swyoe. Experimented with dig different settings, but no improvement. Go slower, helps done singe singe singe some... There's an example of cristian frustration.

Have turned off auto correct but still changes words. What am I doing wrong? Frustrating!

Used to be much more accurate. Any input welcome!

Oh, one more thing... I'm left-handed. Would thst make s difference?
Would thst make a distance... Would that make a difference?

I've cleared my user dictionary on the X (have,to tap type and eventhen, errores). Is there a user dictionary that might be influence somewhere in Google land?

How about going into Menu, Settings, Applications, Swype and clear Data and Cache? If I'm not mistaken, there might be some stuff stored on the sd card as well. Good luck.

P.S. This was typed on my X using SwiftKey. ;)

I'm left handed as well and I like Swype for the most part and I ran into the exact same problem. It came down to me being very efficient with Swype then after a while I was horrible and nothing spelled correctly. I then declared the problem I was getting lazy and sloppy so I went back to stock keyboard :P happy ever after

YES!!! Always learning with my X, even though I've had it since it was released in July. This is indeed the answer ... Settings > Language and Keyboard > Multi-touch keyboard (even though I'm using Swype) > Clear User Dictionary.

This is a different - learned - dictionary than the User Dictionary in the Swype settings. The Swype User Dictionary contains words you enter that are unique to your own environment.

The Multi-Touch User Dictionary is the collection of words the X has gathered as you type, errors and all. Thus the increasing problems with misspellings and wrong words as time goes on.

Just to be on the safe side, after clearing the Multi-touch User Dictionary, I enabled the Word Choice Window at about 40 percent on the slider. I think this was about the default setting. I previously turned it off completely, along with the very annoying word prediction. This was likely the source of my problem.

From my BlackBerry days, I remember it took a while for the BB to learn my typing and gradually the helper pop-up boxes appeared less and less. I'm finding the same now with Swype.

I truly appreciate this comment. You guys are great with solving issues. Thanks!!

I don't have the Droid X but I do use Swype on my fascinate and noticed that it becomes horribly unpredictable if I have it plugged into an AC adapter. It doesn't seem to be a problem with it plugged into the car adapter.

So where can I delete learned words from my Swype dictionary if its not the default system dictionary? I've got a lot of weird words that pop up as the first choice frequently and if I select the word and hit the Swype button it just comes up with the tip window.
