Swype Suddenly Stopped Working?

I was using snapchat and began typing. Suddenly it would not allow me to type at all. I restarted the phone to see if that would help (it worked in the past) and when that did not work, I changed the keyboard. When trying to go into swype settings, it would not open. I cleared the cache, disabled and re-enabled, and then the settings came up. However with the keyboard enabled, the keyboard will not pop up in any application. Is there any way to fix this?

RE SWYPE keyboard: Not sure from your post if you had previously purchased the app. If not, the 'trial' period ends in 90 days and the keyboard quits as you say. You have to purchase the app (sometimes for $.99) and then SWYPE will provide you a 'password' to fully activate the app.
