Yes, but the regular multi touch keyboard is also much better than in previous droids. You get a fair amount of typing options.

Plus, I hear it has a decent option if you turn the phone sideways and slide the screen up...

That too... I have been using swype in portrait for small texts and that other option for anything larger.

Slide out swype touch pad? The material from the touch pad on my asus laptop with backlit keys drawn on would be fantastic.
