Sync google voice/contacts without gmail?

Is there a way to sync my google contacts from google voice to the EVO? When I try to add a Google account to sync with it says I don't have gmail so I can't sync (Which is true, I only use google voice and save my contacts there). With my Pre I could sync with my google account even though I didn't have gmail setup.

Any ideas?

You have to have them synced to your Gmail account. Not just Voice.
