Syncing Gmail Contacts

My friend just bought the Captivate. We're trying to figure out how to only sync his My Contacts from Gmail and not all of them. I'm not seeing any settings for that anywhere in the Sync or in the Contacts app. Anyone know how to do that?

I'm having a problem with that too. I think it might be Google. I got an error message about the server having an issue and to try back later.

FYI - my contacts did sync. I was able to get my Google Voice account synced also.

I'm loving this phone!
