Syncing w/ iTunes....using a Mac

He is asking about syncing with a Mac. Neither iTunes Agent or the Money thing work on Macs. This functionality should be out of the box with Android phones.

You can download doubletwist on the computer(mac) go in settings and check sync with itunes. Works perfect... open doubletwist and theres goes ur playlist.. from there u can drag and drop..

I'm a long time mac user. Double twist sort of works but it's not great. I cannot get it to sync my playlists. It transfers the music but the playlist doesn't show up in the phone. With over 15000 songs in iTunes, setting up manual lists on the phone is out of the question. And I'm not trying to sync it all, just a few playlists. I have a couple of ipods for serious music listening. Pretty disappointed so far.

I'm using the free version of Sailing Media Sync. I can't tell which is the internal 8GB and which is my 8GB SD card or how to choose what to put where. Thats the only thing stopping me from paying for the licensed version.

I just downloaded Salling Media sync and tried it. Much faster and seems more "Mac Like" than double twist. All my playlists transferred and showed up.

Snookie to tell the difference look at the size in the summary window. I too have an 8gb card. The internal memory is only 6.6 gb but the 8 gb card is 7.6gb.

I didn't nuy the double twist app, I just downloaded doubletwist on my mac. plug in my incredible, mount SD card, and then DT will ask if you want to sync the playlists you already have in iTunes.

I still use iTunes for everything day to day, but I fire up DT when I want to sync to my incredible.

Why not just drag and drop you music from your computer (mac or pc) on your sd card? It's easy and people should just stop being lazy..

Exactly.

Why do you need an app for this? Drag your entire Itunes music folder to the phone's SD card. Done!!

Even the iTunes M4A format plays on the phone. No conversion necessary. Works on Windows and Mac.

How can you have both a computer and an Incredible and STILL be so computer illiterate that you need a program to do this for you?

/me (ducks and runs)...

@icebike.- true you can do that.. but does it copy the playlist.. thats the problem.. whats the the point of just havin thousand of songs with no playlist

I have over 200 gigs of music, and I have every piece of album art, and every piece of information on each album. I like to keep that all in tact, and I like the album artwork to look like it should as well.

and with that large of a library I have playlists for working out, and for work. so doing ti to sync playlists is WAY easier.

one i dont know how u gonna get 200 gigs of music on the android haha

two if u added album art cover and tags to ur music thru itunes whereever the actual mp3s are saved they have that info already attached to that mp3 when you move it android card.

as far as playlist i know double twist doesnt bring your itunes playlist over

If you like smart playlists and just want a simple interface to sync with iTunes, you can try out iSyncr in the Android Market.

Possibly a silly question. I'm getting an android phone in the next few months. I have a Pre, and an iPod Touch. I want one device. Is there a media manager that can manage audible audio books, TV shows and movies like iTunes does? Or a way to fool iTunes into managing my android?

no. media support for android phones is really bad. you can't just plug it in and sync 6 or 7 gigs of music as easy as on itunes. you either have to drag and drop the songs/folders into the phone or you can use third party programs like Double Twist but it doesn't work as smoothly as itunes.

So we have these great devices, getting better each time a new phone comes out. They're supposed to be the iPhone killer. And not a single developer can be bothered to create a program that matches iTunes in abilities?

I know for a fact the play lists in iTunes can include video such as Movies and TV Shows and audiobooks ("recently added" does it all the time). So how hard is it for someone (who can program) to create a program that can read ans sync the full spectrum of play lists?

I thought Salling Media sync might be the answer, but it can't do anything but music and Podcasts.

How does everyone watch video on their android phone? Because drag and drop is way too antiquated to be an option in today's multimedia-connected world.
