Maxx used to sync with my pc. I don't do that very often.

before ICS, it did sync, just showed up on My Computer and could easily open and manipulate files.
Alls I get now is that Motocast install option on My Computer for Maxx now.

IT's set to Mass Storage in Settings/Storage and I select that on the prompt when I plug it in.
Anyone else have this happen?
Thanks
*I realize it's probably buried deep in the archives here somewhere, but someone else new might have this problem now too. So, please..no lectures on searching. Just answer if you know.

The only question I see is "Anyone else have this happen?"... my answer is no. Did you update your Motocast software after the ICS update? Should I ask the stupid questions that your did not say... is your computer on? Motocast does need to have your device connected to your PC, so why even say anything about "Mass Storage" settings?

FYI: I don't use Motocast too much, but I do occasionally use it to get wallpaper's from my PC to my Maxx and I did do it about a week ago and it worked just fine for me.

I have never used Motocast on my pc. No need for it.
It's simply what shows up as a 'drive' when I plug up to my Win 7 pc now.
It used to just say Droid Razr Maxx.

Ok, I think I'm starting to understand... you saying "Maxx used to sync with my pc"... it does not do this auto-magically (automatically) do this. You had to have some other application on your PC do this. I'm still wondering maybe if that is your question, or is it something else?

I think the OP is saying that when the Maxx is plugged in to the computer via USB, it no longer shows up as 2 separate drives, one for the phone internal memory, the other for the SD card.

I've noticed that it can take upwards of 30 seconds or so before the drives get recognized. So next time you connect, wait a little while. If it still doesn't work, unplug and plug it back in, then wait again.

Also, when the Windows notification pops up about Motocast, just exit out of that window by hitting the red X. There's no way to deactivate that notification, unfortunately.

Exactly! Thank you bud.
See, like I just plugged it up and it says CD Drive (F) Motocast.
That's just weird.
I don't get that motocast startup screen either. Used to though, and yea, I'd X outta it and did fine.
I just wanna copy some .apk files to my Fire.

How long did you wait to see if the phone's 2 storage areas came up as drives in Windows? Try plugging it in and going to make some coffee or something, then come back and see if it has popped up in Windows Explorer.

Just ignore motocast and go to my computer. There will be two drives, MOT is your internal storage, and removable storage is your sd card

B.Diddy is correct... plug in your device... go take a break and come back in a few minutes... mine generally take at least a full minute to connect.

Also, your device drives might be a little mixed up... you might need to check out the Disk Management console on your Computer Management console. Right click your "Computer" icon and select "Manage"... this will bring up the Computer Mangement console, the expand your "Storage" section if it's not expanded and click on "Disk Management." This will show you all your drives... a guess, but you might have some of the drives showing up under the same device... if that is the case you can right click one of those drives and select Change Drive Letter and Path... this will allow you to change the drive letter. But it should show you 3 additional drives beside the ones that are in your PC... personally, I have a F: (MotoCast), an H: (MOT), and a G: (my SD card)... beside my regular drive letters.

It takes mine less than 10 seconds to come up. You guys must have ancient computers.

This is what I see after making a copy of French Press coffee.
Those two removable drives? I think that's where the two for Maxx USED to be.

It's hard to tell what you have... and maybe a before and after shoot... make the left side a little bigger to see the device names.

Thanks..but I don't wanna show all my junk, LOL.
Suffice it to say that it's not recognizing my Maxx for some reason.
As I said, it used to, immediately..in a few seconds.
I haven't even tried to sync since after ICS, but I think it's something to do with that.
Dunno, I'll get it figured out.
I'm sure it's user error.
Just never had to mess with it much, just plugged it up!
OH well...it'll be cool one way or the other.

Did you open them to see what is in them? It should show up as two different devices. One should be your internal card and the other is your external card

Also, try rebooting both your desktop and your phone.
Yup...

Shows nothing.

I did try with a laptop, Win 7 also, and it does the same exact thing.
So, it's some setting on my Maxx that I've botched up someways. ?
durrrrrrr....:p

Ok, just to be clear, you're saying you did reboot your computer and your phone?

Also, shot in the dark, are you using the actual USB cable that came with the phone, or a 3rd party cable? Not every cable is interchangeable--the old 3rd party USB cable that I had for my Droid Incredible fits my Maxx, but doesn't charge it.
