System UI not responding

Lately I've been experiencing problems with the system interface not responding, and in some cases it's been very sensitive to touch. Is there anything that can be done to fix the problem of the interface not responding?

How often does it happen? If it's frequent, try booting into Safe Mode to see if it's an issue with an app you installed, or with the firmware/preinstalled app. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

In my case, turning off the auto hide the navigation buttons option solved screen rotation and screen sensitivity issues. Everything is butter-smooth now.
