System UI Tuner in Marshmallow?

There's supposedly a new thing in Marshmallow called System UI Tuner that allows you to alter what's in your status bar etc. I've updated to Marshmallow today but I can't get this setting to activate. You supposedly have to hold your finger on the settings cog in the drop down notification menu for a few seconds and then the system ui tuner is supposed to appear as a new menu in the main settings menu (much like developer options appears when you activate that). But it doesn't work. I thought maybe it was just something that was in the early developers versions of Marshmallow and maybe it got shelved in the end, but after doing a Google search I find that it's still supposed to be there and working in the final release. So what am I doing wrong?

Your steps are right. Press and hold that for several seconds.

Took me a couple tries but I got it. There should be a toast notification saying you opened up system UI tuner.

edit: Thinking about it for a little bit...it may have been removed by Motorola.

Did you change anything in the developer options? If so make sure that the animations are not switch off and the three values are set to 1x or 0.5x.

Animations were off but just tried turning them on and still doesn't work. I guess Motorola have disabled it for some strange reason

Did you reboot your phone after switching them on? Forgot to mention this.

Works on my XT1095. Just used it to embed the battery percentage in the battery icon when not charging. Is yours one of the carrier models. Mine is the pure edition.

Mine is P.E. too so hopefully when I reboot my phone it will work. Will reboot later and see

No I didn't. I can't reboot my phone at the moment so I'll try it later and report back

Yes it's there. Hold it for a while, couple of times. Should work for sure.
