I received my TF101 Tuesday afternoon, June 21. As soon as it connected to the network I got an update notification. After waiting a bit for the charge to get over 50% I launched the update and left for a meeting. When I returned and started the tablet I saw a message that the system update failed and was reverting to the original system. I did not receive any further update notifications after that.

I tried going to Settings->About Tablet->System Update and got the "There is no update available for your device currently" message. Pressed the Check Update button and got the same message.

The next morning I went to the ASUS US support site, support.asus.com, and downloaded the latest firmware update file, UpdateLauncher_US_epaduser8445.zip, unzipped the file and copied the ASUS directory to a blank micro sd. I inserted the micro sd and received a notification that a system update was available and launched the update. This time I stayed around to watch what happened. The system powered down, installed the update and restarted. This time the message said that the update succeeded.

However, nothing on the machine has changed. The Android version is still 3.01 and the build number is still HR166.US_epad-8.2.3.9-20110423.

I have tried this installation multiple times, redownloaded the update file multiple times, etc. and always get the same result. Once the update claims to have succeeded I have to do a factory data reset in order for the update on the micro sd to be detected again so it seems to think it has successfully updated.

I have read all the existing threads on the 3.1 update and haven't found an answer. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this, and how to get around it?
