I am running gb 2.3 rooted. about an hour ago I got a system update request for 4.6.602 I believe. I do not want to download this and I don't want to have to keep declining the notifications. I am down for doing whatever has to be done to get it to go away. I know there is code that has to be rewritten in an emulator or in a rooted system file application but i am just not sure what the best way to go about it is or what will actually work. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm having the same issue as you and would like to know as well. I don't want this update.

Follow the instructions in the link that I linked to and you can keep root, upgrade to .602, and upgrade the radio. Don't believe the hype about the problems. It's a bugfix update. Some people shouldn't have smartphones.

I guess you're right, I just don't have any of the bugs that people have been complaining about ever since gingerbread. I just don't want to have to reset everything if there are some annoying bugs.

The people complaining about bugs with the .602 build are the same ones who complained about GB in the first place. They are the folks that have screwed up their phones due to software conflicts or uneducated modification.

I have not heard or read about anyone with a functioning DX encountering problems with the new GB build. If you still have cold feet, bookmark the update link from the MDW forums and wait a couple weeks.

If only I could figure out which apps were conflicting with gb and making my phone reboot. Cause it never did it on froyo. Even so, I love the changes with gb. The rebooting and freeze ups are just a mild annoyance.

I ended up using the update here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/mo.../112321-tbh-602-instructions.html#post1190156 and everything has been working fine so far, with the root intact.

When you switched over to gingerbread, did you do a full wipe? I did (including reformatting my SD card) and I've never had any of the phone reboot issues that so many people have had. The only problem I had was with the google music app causing my phone to reboot.
